Protecting California’s American Kestrels Through Science, Stewardship, & Community
As natural landscapes continue to shrink, California’s farms and rangelands have become critical habitat for American Kestrels.
Our program supports American Kestrel populations by combining rigorous research, long-term monitoring, and meaningful community engagement.
Together with landowners and partners, we are building a future where American Kestrels and working landscapes can thrive.

This program is funded through private donations and grants including support from, the Hrdy Family, University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program, Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the American Ornithological Society. Your contribution supports the direct costs of field research and monitoring, which allows us to:

-
Monitor 130+ nest boxes annually
-
Complete 700+ nest box visits
-
Collect data from 60+ active nests
-
Generate high-impact scientific data that informs kestrel conservation and management
